General Peptide Information
Peptides are short chains of amino acids that act as signaling molecules in the body. They help regulate and optimize biological processes such as healing, metabolism, immune function, and cognitive health.
Unlike traditional pharmaceuticals, peptides are designed to mimic natural biological processes. This allows them to target specific functions in the body with a high degree of precision and typically fewer systemic effects.
Many peptides are derived from naturally occurring proteins and work by enhancing pathways the body already uses to maintain and improve function.
Supplements — Provide vitamins and minerals, but generally lack targeted biological activity.
Pharmaceuticals — Often synthetic and designed to disrupt or alter a specific function in the body. While effective, they may carry broader systemic side effects.
Peptides — Directly interact with the body's natural signaling pathways to enhance function without suppressing underlying processes.
More targeted approach: Peptides operate at a cellular level, supporting specific biological functions beyond general nutritional support.
Reduced side effects: Their specificity helps minimize the systemic impact often associated with traditional pharmaceuticals.
Peptide therapy may support a wide range of biological functions, including:
- Improving sleep quality
- Enhancing cognitive function and mental clarity
- Supporting immune health and reducing inflammation
- Promoting muscle recovery and fat metabolism
- Improving skin and hair health
- Increasing libido and sexual function
- Supporting mitochondrial function and energy production
- Assisting in wound healing and tissue repair
- Optimizing hormonal balance and metabolism
Peptides can be administered in several formats depending on the compound and intended outcome:
- Injectables — Highest bioavailability (~100%). Designed for systemic effects and precise dosing.
- Nasal sprays — Convenient and effective delivery method with moderate bioavailability (~50–70%).
- Oral (capsules) — Effectiveness varies depending on digestion and peptide stability.
- Topicals (creams/serums) — Used for localized absorption and targeted surface-level effects.
Peptide therapy may be appropriate for individuals looking to improve specific aspects of their health and performance, including:
- Recovery and physical performance
- Weight management and body composition
- Energy levels and metabolic health
- Cognitive function and mental clarity
- Immune system support
Protocols are personalized to align with individual health goals and physiology.
Most peptide therapies produce gradual improvements over time.
Some effects may be noticeable early, but the most meaningful results typically occur with consistent use over 3–6 months.
Timelines vary depending on the specific compounds used, the protocol design, and individual response. More detailed timelines are provided within each peptide's product and dosing guide.
This depends on the type of peptide, duration of use, and individual factors such as lifestyle and overall health.
Some peptides can produce longer-lasting effects by helping the body operate more efficiently. For example, certain compounds may support improved hormone signaling, tissue repair, or metabolic function that persists beyond active use.
Other peptides require ongoing use to maintain their benefits. In these cases, discontinuation may result in a gradual return to baseline over time — similar to stopping exercise or structured nutrition.

Safety, Quality & FDA Approval Status
Yes, when properly sourced and used under medical supervision. Many peptides have been used safely for years in both research and clinical settings. Our team continuously reviews the latest research and adjusts protocols to ensure optimal safety and effectiveness for our patients.
We take quality, safety, and effectiveness seriously. Here is how our peptides stand apart:
- Pharmaceutical-grade peptides: Sourced from FDA-inspected, USA-based manufacturers and compounded in a cGMP-certified facility.
- Tested for purity & potency: Every batch undergoes mass spectral analysis and RP-HPLC testing, ensuring 99.99% purity.
- Not salt-based: Unlike many research-grade or foreign-sourced peptides, our peptides are medical/pharmaceutical grade and are formulated for human use without acetate or salt fillers that can reduce stability and bioavailability. We do not recommend getting peptides from less expensive “research grade” peptide sources online.
- Prescribed by medical professionals: Available only to patients under physician supervision. If you are new to peptide therapy, we recommend scheduling a consultation to determine the best options for your health goals.
- Regulatory compliance & continuous monitoring: We stay informed about FDA regulations and evolving guidelines to ensure continued patient access to the safest, most effective peptides available.
Peptides vary in terms of FDA approval status. Some peptides are FDA-approved for specific medical conditions, while others are available through compounding pharmacies that adhere to strict quality standards. At Axiom, we source our peptides exclusively from a 503B FDA-registered compounding pharmacy that adheres to strict quality and safety regulations. While these peptides are not considered FDA-approved drugs, they are produced in compliance with cGMP (Current Good Manufacturing Practices) and meet the highest pharmaceutical standards.
FDA approval is not the only measure of a drug's safety or effectiveness. Many widely used medical treatments began as compounded medications before undergoing the lengthy and expensive FDA approval process. At Axiom, patient safety is our top priority. That is why we only use the highest quality peptides. Our providers continuously monitor peptide research and regulatory updates, ensuring that all treatments are based on the latest scientific evidence and best clinical practices.
The FDA's role is to oversee drug safety, manufacturing quality, and public health. However, regulatory restrictions on peptides can also be influenced by pharmaceutical industry influence and lengthy approval processes, rather than concerns about safety or efficacy.
Some key reasons why certain peptides are regulated or restricted include:
- Slow clinical trials process: Many peptides, like BPC-157 and Thymosin Alpha-1, have strong research backing but have not yet completed full FDA trials, which can take years or decades.
- Compounding pharmacy regulations: The FDA regulates the production of compounded peptides to ensure sterility and consistency. Axiom's peptides come exclusively from a 503B FDA-registered pharmacy, meeting the highest safety standards.
- Pharmaceutical patents & monopolization: Companies can patent peptides, making FDA approval for compounded versions difficult.
While FDA scrutiny can create confusion, the peptides used at Axiom are safe, effective, and carefully sourced from FDA-approved facilities. The restrictions often result from regulatory shifts rather than inherent safety concerns. Many peptides are used successfully in clinical settings globally, and while the U.S. regulatory process can be slow, we hope that increased research and recognition of peptides will lead to wider accessibility in the future.
We are actively monitoring regulations and news about the FDA's position on GLP-1s. Currently, our pharmacies are not halting production and GLP-1s are available, but that may change. As soon as we have an update, we will send an email to alert you. That said, we are advising patients to stock up just in case. If unconstituted and stored in a freezer, the shelf life extends well over a year.
The regulatory landscape for peptides is evolving. While some peptides may face increased restrictions, we remain dedicated to providing safe and effective options for our patients.
Our commitment includes:
- Staying ahead of regulatory updates to ensure continued access
- Offering alternative peptides and personalized protocols when availability changes
- Providing ongoing patient education so you can make informed decisions about your health
We encourage patients to explore independent scientific studies and trusted clinical resources. If you would like a list of research studies or regulatory updates, our team is happy to provide additional information upon request. Dosing & Protocols
A peptide protocol is a structured and detailed treatment plan designed to optimize the use of peptides for specific health goals. This plan provides:
- Dosing instructions: Specifies the exact amount of each peptide to use, such as 2 mg per injection.
- Frequency guidelines: Defines how often the peptide should be administered, such as 5 times per week.
- Cycle duration: Details the length of time the peptide therapy is followed, such as 3 months on and 1 month off.
Each peptide has unique properties, benefits, and protocols tailored to maximize its effectiveness. These protocols are carefully designed to address diverse health areas, including weight management, muscle growth, enhanced cognition, injury recovery, and long-term vitality. A well-crafted peptide protocol ensures that the therapy is both effective and safe for the patient.
A cycle refers to a structured 4-month period during which peptides are administered according to a personalized plan. Typical cycles involve 3 months of active therapy followed by 1 month off. Our program is built around three 4-month peptide cycles per year, with most peptides containing a 4-week supply to allow for monthly and full-cycle purchases.
- Monthly orders: Suitable for first-time users or those wanting flexibility to adjust their protocol.
- Full cycle purchases: 3-month bundles are discounted at 15% off. Ideal for committed patients, ensuring seamless adherence to the protocol.
- Prevents resistance — Cycling helps the body remain responsive to peptides, maintaining effectiveness over time.
- Encourages recovery — Rest periods allow the body to reset and optimize long-term benefits.
- Provides flexibility — Our program supports three four-month cycles per year (totaling 48 weeks), with built-in flexibility for missed doses or adjustments.
A multi-peptide protocol is a treatment plan that involves using multiple peptides at the same time, following the individual dosing instructions for each peptide. This approach allows for synergistic benefits by combining peptides that target different biological pathways, such as fat loss, muscle growth, recovery, longevity, and cognitive enhancement.
During consultations or follow-up appointments, our providers will work with you to create a personalized multi-peptide protocol based on your health goals and ensure that you understand proper dosing, scheduling, and safe administration. If you have questions about which peptides can be taken together, we offer additional resources to guide you in safely and effectively following your protocol.
Recommended protocols are pre-structured treatment plans that include strategically combined peptides commonly used together. These bundles offer a comprehensive approach to addressing multiple health goals.
When you purchase a recommended protocol, you receive:
- A curated selection of peptides designed for your health concerns
- A comprehensive dosing schedule
- A streamlined approach to achieving optimal results
These protocols offer a holistic and research-backed method for optimizing peptide therapy.
A peptide stack combines multiple peptides into one vial, simplifying dosing and reducing the number of injections. Instead of managing separate schedules, you follow one streamlined protocol while still getting the full benefits of multi-peptide therapy.
Currently, we offer Superhuman Peptide Stacks, with plans to expand to additional peptide stacks in the future.
Our Superhuman Peptide Stacks use advanced science to enhance peptide effectiveness. These stacks improve absorption, extend stability, and optimize results through cutting-edge delivery methods, including:
- Layered FG peptides — Prevents receptor competition, ensuring peptides work together efficiently.
- Exosome encapsulation — Uses natural delivery systems to improve absorption and target the right areas.
- PEGylation — Extends peptide activity in the body, reducing dosing frequency while maintaining effectiveness.
Superhuman Peptide Stacks offer next-level support for longevity, performance, and recovery, delivering maximum therapeutic benefits in the most efficient way possible.
Product Details & Storage
All of our peptides come in 10 mL vials, but the amount of liquid solution inside may vary based on the peptide and the prescribed dosage. The mg value on the bottle indicates how much peptide is in the vial, and you can refer to your peptide instruction guide to confirm the amount of bacteriostatic water needed for reconstitution. Most peptides look like they are less than halfway full, but that is how they are supposed to look.
Peptides should be stored in the refrigerator to maintain their potency. Protect them from light and heat, and avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
- Powdered peptides — Shelf life is 2 years in powder form stored in the refrigerator or freezer. Can be left at room temperature for weeks with minimal degradation.
- Liquid peptides — Once reconstituted, shelf life is 3–6 months if stored properly in the refrigerator, and with good handling, they may remain effective for longer. Can remain stable for up to 7 days without refrigeration, but it is best to keep them consistently cold to maintain their maximum potency.
- Nasal sprays — Refrigerate after opening. Shelf life is 3–6 months when stored properly in the fridge. Can last up to 12 months if kept in the freezer before first use.
- Creams — Refrigerate after opening. Shelf life is 6 months refrigerated. Can last up to 12 months if kept in the freezer before first use.
It depends on how long the peptide was left out and whether it was in powder or liquid form. In general, most peptides remain stable at room temperature for several days — often up to 7 days or more — especially if kept away from heat and direct sunlight. If a peptide is left unrefrigerated for an extended period, it may begin to lose some potency, but it typically remains safe to use. The main risk is a gradual decrease in effectiveness rather than safety.
If this happens, just return the peptide to a cool, dry place (ideally the fridge) as soon as possible. If you're ever unsure whether your peptide is still effective or safe to use, feel free to reach out with the details — we're happy to advise based on your specific situation. For best results, always store your peptides in the refrigerator when not in use.
All our peptide vials are measured to provide approximately a 4–5 week supply when following the standard dosing guidelines. However, some peptides — such as Semaglutide, Tirzepatide, Retatrutide, Melanotan, and Pentosan — are dosed individually based on patient goals and response, meaning vial duration for these peptides varies. More details for each individual peptide vial duration can be found on the peptide product pages and information & dosing guide sheets.
If you adjust your dosing schedule, your vial may last more or less than four weeks, depending on frequency and dose per injection. Minor variations in vial duration are expected and will not impact overall results, as long as the full mg contents are used over the intended period.
A vial lasting slightly more or less than four weeks is normal due to minor variations in dosing, syringe measurements, or human error. This does not affect your overall progress, as peptide therapy is designed to account for slight deviations while ensuring you receive the full mg dosage over time.
If you did not follow the standard dosing protocol, your vial will naturally last a different amount of time. If you believe there was a significant discrepancy with your vial, please contact us, and we can help assess your situation.
